It seems you can’t turn around without hearing about the health benefits of blueberries. They’re high in antioxidants, are good for your heart, are low glycemic, and may even provide resistance to cancer. I had tried a few different smoothie recipes with blueberries, but my eldest always complained of them being “too sweet.” It turns out pineapple is a perfectly balanced complement to the blueberries, giving this pineapple blueberry smoothie a nice zing to go along with its sweetness.
It’s a super simple recipe that only takes a few minutes to throw together first thing in the morning.
- 1 ½ c frozen pineapple
- 1 ½ c frozen blueberries
- 2 c almond milk
- 1 c coconut water
- 2 T liquid probiotic
- 1 T flax seed
- ½ scoop vanilla protein powder
- Place all ingredients into a blender and combine until smooth.
